Relating income to traffic on any website is difficult, it's not even so straight forward on an Ecommerce site. This problem is more so with smaller sites and longer cycle products or services.

With Website Monitor, we have to make an estimate as to how much gross margin derives from the website. This is best illustrated with an example.

Business A has a turnover of £100,000pa. it operates with a gross margin of 50%, hence £50,000. They estimate that roughly 10% of their business is derived from the internet, so their website "earns" £5,000.

Website Monitor uses a relative metric called "Session Value" to assign how interested a session or group of sessions are. This value is calculated from your first month's traffic and assigned a value of 1.

If the quality of your sessions improves, we should see session value go up, conversely if the quality falls, it goes down.

So if the traffic in the first month was 5000 sessions, at session value 1, each session is worth £1 of margin.

Over the course of a year, Website Monitor subscription comes to £720, in this case that equates to an additional 720 sessions of equivalent value, or 5720 for the last month.

This might be made up of 5500 sessions of value 1.04 or higher, or any such permutation.

If Website Monitor falls short, say 5200 sessions at value 1.05, the equivalent of 5460, then it would be £260 short, and that would be refunded.

I offer this because this is how my service should be valued, if it doesn't do what it says on the tin, why should you pay for it? The internet is full of spurious services whose primary aim is to take your money, most other goods you buy, washing machines, for example, have warranties, so this is ours.

Do note however, there is no magic bullet to internet success. Ultimately it depends on how well you run your business, on the internet the "user experience" is the ultimate determinant of success and we do expect clients to make the effort here as well.
